I really like this shot. The title of the photo is perfectly matched for the expression on the child's face. I think that B&W is a good choice, matching the black vs. white theme of Chess. I've seen this done low key before, but never high key ... I think the high key is a nice match for the youthfulness of the subject. Exposure appears to be very good! If I could offer a suggestion, it would be for stronger focus on the eyes, it looks a bit soft there. JMO.

This is a pretty cool shot. A good moment, and great expressions on the kids faces. Technically, I believe this photo has good points and room for improvement. The exposure/processing is spot on. From dark background to the white pulled out pockets, the exposure seems very good. The contrast of the photo is extremely good! As for improvements, I really would like a little sharper focus on the kids. Perhaps you used a shutter speed that was a bit slow? Maybe a tripod with a ball head if possible? Either was, the focus of the 2 boys is just a bit soft for my liking. JMO.

I like the moment that you captured. Composition is good, but there are a couple of very distracting elements, including the white writing on the wall, the dark shadow along the right edge and the white item along the right edge.
