Can't tell where the focus is. In fact, it looks a little blur all round. The composition could be better maybe by moving a little more to the left to take out the dark parts on the left.

Some nice colours but not sure that the composition here really works. It's busy alright but the composition looks careless and I stress "looks". To me the challenge is to make something busy have photo appeal.

Like this a lot, grain and all. Can't say what else you can do to improve it. Already gives a beautiful haunting and moody atmosphere. A favourite and glad you posted it.

This is actually quite refreshingly eccentric and funny! Not bad at all. It reminds me of those art exhibits I saw once at the Modern Tate in London ;) Most ecclectic and fascinating. Anyway I had a ball!Don't think you should feel bad about the low score 'coz I think DPC challenge works well on stuff that has mass appeal. But it doesn't mean that those that don't, have no appeal - just probably skewed to a niche audience. My only gripe here would be the way the face is positioned. I have a preference for it being placed diagonally across the top right corner than straight up but then, who knows for sure unless you try the shot again.

Just saw this and find it way cool! I think you've just hit on an awesome technique. The expression and the veil-like effect really goes well together. The only thing I would probably look to enhance a little are the colours - not sure how but it looks a tad bit flat. Or make it b & w?
