That is one heck of a shot! The back lighting on the wings is incredible and the whole things is so sharp. The Branch thing is a little tenuous, but then its hard to be different and still meet the challenge. It's still worth 7+

This is a gnarly old beast isn't it. I wonder if there's too much in frame and if a tighter crop may have bought out that lovely dappled light and the strong texture in the bole of the trunk? There's a slight bluriness that I can't make out, is it camera movement rather than focus?

What an amazing looking tree. The background sky is stunning. Interestingly, the shot lost all it's impact when it finished loading. I have dialup so it loaded top down slowly and I first went wow when it got to the fat branch as at that point the tree looked 100ft tall and 15ft thick. The other twigs looked like trees about 25ft tall. Then the greenery appeared and it spoilt the illusion :( It has maybe meant 3-4 points difference to me.
