Very simple and elegant. You may get some notes about the tree should be at the point of thirds, but I think in this case it works where it is. It helps balance the water in the lower right.

This has tons of potential that I do not think are quite realized. There is nothing special about the object in the foreground and it is directly centered. I think it is more of a distraction than a help in this case. The light is great. Maybe a more horizontal view with a bit more of the rocks on the right and a straighter horizon. Try it again- I am sure you can do it better!

It is a nice sunset over the ocean but it could be better if the sun and the horizon were not so centered. Rule of thirds can help. An object of interest like some rocks or a person can also make sunset pictures more interesting. Most of us have seen and taken pictures of sunsets. Look for ways to make them different or give us something else to look at too. Make us want to look at the picture longer than a second or two.
