Framing by a bowby DjabordjaborComment: Hello from the Critique club, my name is Jon Rowe, and i will be looking at your image this evening :)
Composition/Lighting : great job! i really don't see how this did not turn out better, but be proud of it. it's a great shot. the lighting is spot on, i like the angle of the light you chose, he's shooting up, and brings the eyes to the outside of the frame. very nice. no blowouts, very nice. overall great :) i gave it a 7:)
Challenge : i think it definitely meets the challenge, but some voters don't spend enough time to fully analyze, and i think that shows here. great shot :)
Conclusion : there's really not that much i can nitpic on this. great use of lighting, great detail. nice look of anticipation and concentration on the boys face. really tells a story, which is hard to do in a setup shot w/ kids, as i'm sure you've found.
i think the toga is a bit much, personally. but to each his own. doesn't take away, great image :)
Keep on shootin!
Good luck on your future challenges:)

Christ Church Steepleby singerboyComment: hello from the critique club, my name is jon rowe and i'll be reviewing your image today :)
Composition/Lighting : this is a very nice image. i like the way the the fence and the trees frame the steeple. very nice use of light. i think the foreground is just a bit too "busy" if you will. you have a great mix of colors, from the very nice, vibrant blue sky, to the beauitful array of greens. i think a tighter, portrait (tall) crop would have been stronger for this. there's so much in the image to take the viewer's attention, and if you cropped it tighter, the attention would go directly to the steeple.
Challenge : This definitely meets the challenge, with a great use of vibrant colors. too bad this wasn't an advanced editing challenge, or you could have dodged the steeple to make it stand out more. so is life, eh? :) great job on this image.
Conclusion : This is really a great image. you should definitely be proud of this. keep learning, and adding great images to your portfolio. the more challeges you enter, the more you will learn. i learn more each challenge i enter, and it's always someting beneficial that i can take on to the next entry.
Keep on shootin!
Good luck on your future challenges:)
