So very hard to take pictures of bird in their home territory ... it is a nice shot, just a shame about the obsuring of the branches ... which should be there anyway. Nice pic.

I would love to have seen the colours in this shot, I do think that this is a bit of black and white overkill.

Very domesticated this wildlife ... I mean she is wearing clothes ... even if it is a bikini.

I knew I recognised the model ... the stigmata needed to look more like bleeding rather than painted on :)

::: Critique Club :::

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

The critique I am doing is for "Welcome home"

First Impression - the most important one:
Vibrant, but slightly overtaken by the white background as the tips of the flowers blended in.

Composition:
I really like this composition, the use of vertical thirds works, although I would have liked to see the stamen on the horizontal thirds to see if that would have added an extra dimension.

Subject:
I like the colours ... the background colour was however a minor issue, I feel that the stark white detracted from the image which started to blend with it.

Technical (Colour and light):
Well lit with good use of colour.

To grow its vote?:
I would think about the cropping used and try looking at the leading lines and thirds rule. Think about how to make the image pop with different uses of background colour.

Summary:
Fantastic picture which in reality did VERY well and voted well, You did a great job. And good to have this as a learning expereince with the the softbox concept. YOU SHOULD BE PROUD!

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

The critique I am doing is for "the magic of wishes"

First Impression - the most important one:
I love it ... it took my breath away and left me wishing for more.

Composition:
Interesting use of composition. I would loved to have had more details about what you were

trying to achieve with the shot, as it helps with critiquing. Apart from that, the comments you

recieved are positive with a couple to note:

Careful with neat image, it takes away to texture if used too heavily.
Good concept and great idea!

Subject:
I like the colours ... and how you have used them to meet the challenge 100%..

Technical (Colour and light):
Well lit with good bold use of colour.

To grow its vote?:
Probably a little much in the neat image. but I really think an awesome shot .. and defiantely

was in with a chance .. I just can't figure out the one and two.

Summary:
I think this is a cool picture, well executed with only minor if any issues .. you really did do

good..

If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

The critique I am doing is for "Macaw"

First Impression - the most important one:
This is a good picture, I wish there was more to the background that could have framed the bird.

Composition:
Not bad with an interesting DOF ... There seems to be some distortion where it looks like two layers met around the bird where some editing has taken place (I may be wrong but that is what it looked like).

Subject:
I do like the colours ... and meets the challenge well. I would have liked to have seen the real background colour ... or a little more of it ... as the dark just seems a little unreal.

Technical (Colour and light):
Nicely lit with reasonably good bold use of colour.

To grow its vote?:
Well done, I think that taking note of the comments received ... which is funny as some say good focus and others say not focused, but try to look at the picture from others perspectives will allow you to grow scores and also see what others are seeing.

Summary:
I think this is a good picture, weel executed with only minor if any issues .. not one of your best scoring, but you have done ok.

If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.
