What a perfect setting. Looking at this I keep thinking that the composition should be better. I'm sure one of the top chaps could help here.

Incredible take. How many retakes did you do?

Not really 'already broken', but I won't let that influence my vote.

I struggle with this shot. i think it's because of the red saturation on the bricks - just too unnatural to me. It draws away from the flowers.

Beautiful take. Can't tell if anything really is broken, but love the picture anyway.

An opportunity to switch to Canon? It'll cheer you up.

Good take on the subject - broken camera; and broken heart... I think this could have been more effective with a plain background and lower POV.

Hi Jacque,

This was a 4/5 shot for me. I wound up giving it a four for the following reasons:
- With bird shots such as this I believe that head and eye should be in sharp focus. This is not quiet the case, it is a little bit soft.
- The blurred leaf and branch behind the birds head further softens the apperance of the head.
- The colours are a little flat. That is to say there is nothing which gives the image 'punch'.
- Technically it is not a shallow DOF. The bird is in focus and the tree well behind it is not. just being picky, though.

In terms of improving it - I think the full branch across the image and through the bird is very distracting. By this I mean it draws attention away from the bird.

Interesting nose... The eyes of Africa.

I would have loved to have seen this with the glasses in sharp focus.

The white blow-outs and lack of focus on the higher toothbrush is very distracting. As is all the noise in the image. This could have worked in crisp focus with better lighting.

A bit flat to me. i just think so much more could have been done with the great vantage point.
