Striped Breast of a Red Shouldered Hawkby cloudsmeComment: What an unfortunate placement of the pine needles behind his head. That kind of hair on a bird is only for cartoons : ) Too bad this guy had his back to the sun, forcing you to blow out the background. |

666247by mbrutus2009Comment: I'd prefer to see the lighting a bit softer on his face and maybe a little more controlled so it doesn't highlight his ear so much. A different crop (more room above his head and more on the right to include the whole pitchfork) would have helped the composition. Still, a great idea! |

Meredith in stripesby lobrinComment: The background, bench, and skirt work so well for this challenge, but the models pose (it looks awkward and uncomfortable) and the unnecessary image tilt hurt this, in my opinion. I also would have preferred to see some kind of emotion on the model's face. |

Rainbow Warrior by Jon_HComment: I love the bright colors and the clarity in this. I wish you had focused a tiny bit closer to get the closest two guys in focus too. |

IMG_3970edcropby markwileyComment: Sorry for commenting so many times. I keep noticing more.
For this one, I think you could sharpen more, but with less specific detail. To clarify, I mean that if you sharpen with Unsharp Mask (USM), use a slightly high radius, but also a higher threshold (but not too high; I usually keep it around 7-10). |

IMG_3970edcropby markwileyComment: I love the shadow in this one. I just think the other image has more character. If you decide to go with this one, pull up his skin tones a bit. He's Caucasian, so his skin should fall in the light grey to almost white part of the histogram. |

Bambinaby jotagaComment: This building has so much potential. I would have tried to gain access to the house across the street from here to shoot the building straight on. Then I would have cropped closer on some detail, probably the tree, roots, and some of the architectural detail along the top. I probably would have done this in black and white too, to emphasize the texture in the building. I also would have used a super shallow depth of field to blur the heck out of the background and keep the focus on the gorgeous building. |

Abandoned Orphanageby JRoberts1983Comment: It's so sad to see buildings with beautiful architecture left to rot and fall apart. I would have loved to see this building with better lighting. |

Carn Galver Mine, Cornwallby bob_bobskiComment: I would have preferred if this had been taken during sunrise or sunset so there was some detail in the sky and some separation between the sky and the ground. |
