The Lonerby MelonMusketeerComment: I really like the postiioning of the horizon in this shot, it along with the fading of the different hues in the water, it really gives a great deal of depth. I love the different colors of the water, it looks so warm and inviting. So peaceful and tranquil.
I also like the positioning of the seagull in the frame, adding the forground interest of the seagull really gives it the added interest to explore the shot further. The clouds way in the background just give it that feeling of eternity, that this goes on forever. |

Blueby cginoComment: I really love the point of view you chose to project in this shot. The positioning of the camera and the over abundance of water make for a really tranquil scene.
I also like the idea of anchoring the sides of the frame with something that has to do with land giving a quazi natural frame idea. Really catches you eye and pulls you in as well.
I like the interest on the different planes as well the shoreline in the forground left leading to the boats further away and out in the water, then the mountain in the far distance really gives a great feel of depth.
Overall I just love all the different hues of blue in the frame, its my favorite color and you have captured it very well. |

Perched 1by PaulComment: Love the extremely shallow DOF that you were able to achieve in this shot, looks like the poor thing is all alone in the middle of no where. Although I really like the hint of the forest in the background, perhaps I would let it show through just a bit more to give some depth?
The composition with the branch comming into the frame along the lower horizontial 3rd works well and the centering of the bird feels right for this photo. I also like that the bird is facing forward, many times that you see a photo similat to this you see their backs.
I do not know if you have processed this image or not, it looks a bit soft overall on the branch and the bird. I would try to do an unsharp mask to bring a bit more detail and texture to the overall photo.
I love the colors of bird and the contrast of it to the overall photo. |

deep in the bayouby DeniseComment: I really enjoy the mystery that is captured with the fog in this photo, the slight bit of it gives a eerie feel to the overall photo. Makes me want to look over my shoulder to see whats behind me as I journey into the frame. I thnk you captured it well.
I also like the reflection of the trees in the water. You had to have gotten up pretty early in the morning to be able to capture such a peacefuly reflection in the water. It really gives visual interest to the overall photo.
Be careful of oversharpening, it my be just me but it appears that there is a slight halo around the tops of the tree line, although that could just be me. I would also try a slightly tighter crop closer to the top of the trees to get rid of some of the sky, being a gray day gives you very little visual interest in the sky and may be better off to keep the interest on the trees.
You should try this in black and white, I bet this would look killer. |

Monet's Flameby sherpetComment: Lovely texture and DOF on this photo the dof give a nice added element of depth in the small space that you have captured while the texture is like candy for your eye and keeps it looking ever deeper. I complete visual treat!
I also enjoy all the different hues of orange and red that flow so lovely through out this photo. The lighting and the tones so evenly across the photo make it very easy to enjoy this photo.
I also like the point of view that you chose to shoot this at. It feels as though we are looking into another world. Pehaps a martain planet that is very mountainous. It really adds an extra dimension to the overall photograph.
Great to have you back Shez, and though I am not part of this SC, I will be checking in periodiacly to see more wonderful stuff from you. |

Lotus Flower - Day 7 by sherpetComment: This is very lovely, I love the stained glass texturing and hues of purple in the candle. The shape of each of the petals of the candle really draw interest to study and almost to reach out and feel.. Excellent lighting, almost makes the petals transglusent.
I also really like the background. The texture and color of it really adds to the overall photo and reall catches your eye in the thumb nail. |

tinnyby nixterComment: Love the depth given to this buy the receeding shoreline, it creates a quazzi diagonal as it goes off down the beach that really brings your eye deep into the photo.
The shadows that are playing at the front of the boat in the foreground add alot of forground interest around your subject and you are more invited to study the subject due to the weathering that it has taken over the years and now has some sort of texture look to it.
Amazing color to the water, I love the crystal blue hues that are shown within it. Matches up with the sky really well. very tranquil and peaceful over all. |

final-flight.jpgby vawendyComment: I loved this photo in the challenge. The control of DOF in this shot was superb. The way that your wings fade in and out into the background makes for some extreme depth in this photo and really give a great 3d effect.
The feathers on the body are very sharp yet seem smooth at the same time. I also loved the crispness of the background. I also loved the capture of the catch light in the eye. and the placement of the eye on the left vertical 3rd. was beautiful.
It was one of my 10's picked for this challenge and one I had picked to ribbon. Sorry to hear about the DQ. Especially on such a beautiful photo. |

~ My Bleeding Heart ~by Ja-9Comment: Great job with the composition of the flower Janine, Love the lead in of the branch on the upper left. Nice job with the selective desaturation, nice job not to let the color bleed to the other hearts as well.
Great job with your presentation with the boarder, it really highlights the coloration of the flower. Perhaps a bit of a burn of the bright area behind the flower no to much though it is adding a nice amount of depth to the overall photo. Congrats on the score.
