Kestrelby funnylooksComment: Very well done! The catchlight in his eye along with the perfect lighting and muted background make this look as if it were shot in a studio. |

Monumentsby Nikolai1024Comment: This would be better if you had been standing further to the left in order to get the trees out of the way. Other than that, it is a very nice capture. |

Grandmotherby srichmondComment: Very nice portrait in a natural setting. Only problem is that it is slightly cooked. Notice how the door frame is not straight. |

Waldo's Palaceby RulerZigzagComment: Hello from the Critique Club!
My first impression is that color treatment does not work here. If you were going for an antique photo look, then maybe a bit more orange and less red would have helped. Otherwise, I think it would have come out nicely as a simple B&W with no tinting.
This photo does have a spooky feel too it which helps draw interest. You also did a great job on your composition, keeping the light over the door behind the column was a good idea.
This shot meets the challenge well. It is refreshing to see that the person is actually hidden instead of so small he is hard to notice.
I think what kept this entry from scoring higher is that there is not much wow factor. Wow factor is really important if you want to capture someone's attention when they are voting. Otherwise they will give you a 5 and move on. |

Order pizzas by whiterookComment: This makes me feel like I am watching through a security camera. The picture in no way shows what the woman is doing, and she seems blurred. The center of focus draws your attention to the plates in the background. It is good that you didn't use a flash because this allowed you to capture the normal colors of this setting. |

End of the Portage Trailby dsa157Comment: Now this is a great way to spend the weekend! I love the colors, and how the person is a surprise once you notice him. |
