Love eating food like this. Fresh and clean. I think your plate is a bit overkill with color and pattern. Draws away from the colors on your food.

I would definitely dig into this bowl. Love a good banana ice cream. Photographically speaking it could have been stronger, crop is a bit unbalanced on the sides. Probably would have preferred a square crop maybe showing the entire bowl.

Nice and simple. The background seems to have an odd reddish (or at least an off white) tint that isn't so good. Maybe a slightly tighter crop, perhaps square would make the image a bit stronger as well.

Poppy Seed Muffins

From thumbnail this image looked strong. In full view though it appears to fall a bit short of in focus. I want that front muffing to be sharp with the rest fading away as pleasantly as they are. It's just not quite there for me. Hope they were yummy.

I do enjoy good sashimi. You have a plate that obviously was prepared to be visually pleasing, but the capture of the image makes it fall. Dof is too shallow with no real focus or main point of interest. The flower stands out, but I wouldn't say that was a good thing. I think from a different angle , with more in focus you would have had a stronger image. Bet you had a wonderful meal though.

I do enjoy eating snails (the fresher the better), so I appreciate the take on this image. That said, the presentation of your model really isn't that pleasing. Poor angle on the shell and the stuff around the opening just looks kind of gross. Maybe waiting a bit for him to come out and show his head would have been worth it.

As far as the challenge goes you gave me a good laugh, but pretty much falls into the DNMC. On the other hand it is one of the better technical images in the challenge with good lighting, colors and dof. I was probably a bit harsh on my first vote so I am going to bump up now.

The color balance and tones just arent good for sushi. My eye craves the bright crisp colors that could be playing out. The brown/orange tones just make the meal look unappetizing.

A staple in my house. Probably eat them almost weekly. So I am connecting well with your subject from a foodie perspective. From a photography perspective it is a bit lacking. Snapshot feel to it, cropped way too tight. I think you could have been a bit more creative with the image. Would gladly take an invite to come over and dine with you though.
