Hey Joshua. I voted this image a 6. The good - you have a cute model and you have some pleasing colors surrounding her. The head thingee is a nice adornment that has a Librodo feel to it. The bad - I am not digging certain aspects of the editing. The halo around her head from the blurring doesnt work for me and the burning of your edges to give the vignette takes away from the pleasing purple that you have going on closer to her. I think you would have been fine in keeping it the color it was. I would be interested in seeing this without the vignette and without the blur to see what the background was like a bit more true to capture. The indifferent - you have a very cute model (no issue from me whatsoever in using children in challenges) but I am not getting much grab from her gaze. I am not saying this to rip on your subject, but there is a difference in how people look at the camera. Some people look at the lens and have an appearance of knowing that someone is taking their picture. Librodo's models look beyond the lens and right at the viewer - as though there wasn't a camera there at all but a person they were connecting with(if that makes any sense). That doesn't mean that this image is a failure or a bad picture, but it highlights the true challenge it is to capture and create an image with the magic that Librodo has. That all said, you have a lovely picture of this little girl and I would not hesitate for an instant in getting this printed out at least 11x14 and having it framed to hang in her home.

Interesting choices for you to go with. A guy instead of a girl. Muted tones instead of vibrant colors. And even with the "veil", you chose one with no color or distinct pattern. And yet it still has your fingerprints all over it Manny. I am looking forward to seeing how you fare against all of us copycats.

Love the lens flare. Seems a bit too much canvas on the left, but a lovely image overall.

Her smile just lights up this image. I feel she is smiling at me rather than at the camera. Lovely.

Hey Steve. I voted this a 6. The good - your model certainly has lovely eyes. They don't feel overly pimped out but pretty much just right. Her makeup job is lovely as well (good match with the veil) and the doodad on her forehead is a nice touch. IMO a very good edit job on her face. Bouncing back and forth from another image it seems that her skin tone may be just a tad bit on the orange side. The indifferent - her pose for some reason just feels a bit static and unconnecting. It's not terrible, but she just doesn't seem to be connecting with me. Feels a bit too generic and unemotional. Maybe some slight angle so that she is pushed into having to look into the lens, either from slightly above or from an angle rather than just setting her right in front. Librodo often comes at you from an interesting angle. The bad - that green is wretched on my monitor. You have this lovely model with great sharpness and color balance between her eyes and the veil and then this bright flourescent green background that totally for the most part steals the attention away from her eyes. It is just too much. My choice probably would have been a darker more muted background. Black probably would have been very nice to make sure that the focus was directed towards her eyes and the lovely colors of purple rather than away. Hope that helps.

Very nice to see something a bit different yet still fall well within the challenge. Where many have made up a person or create a character to look like someone Librodo would shoot (myself included), you shot a person who was already there. I don't get any feeling that this person is not who you are portraying them to be. I voted the first time around on my laptop (which was a mistake) but going through now and taking a bit more time gets you a bump up of 2 and in my top 5 for the challenge.
