Gone Fishingby kashiComment: the simplicity of the image is misleading; a lovely deep tonal study, subtle and strong. the line, relaxed and unused, implies less about fishing than meditation. a dark and deep image. |

Alfred Hitchcock's The Birdsby bspurgeonComment: ooo, this is so cool. the birds created from submerged sticks. flight from death. the tones are disturbing, the effect nightmarish; this is not an easy image at all. well done indeed. |

The Unbearable Lightness of Beingby dsrayComment: another wonderful movie and book, and a great evocation of feeling. the echoes of shapes and textures are superb. the known but unseen softness of the sheep and the seen softness of the hair; the solidity of the stone and the visual solidity of the sheep; the repetition of shapes with variation through the whole composition are so effective. the warm white tone makes the whole thing glow. yes, indeedy. |

The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxyby tccComment: not only is it a book i love (and movie i liked) but the image is wonderful. the colours, those golds and blues, the flecks of pigeon dust, are, well, lovely. the implied motion in the impact trace remind me greatly of Giacomo Balla's Dynamism of a Dog on a Leash. nicely done indeed. |

The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxyby tccComment: tom, a great image. you were one of my top scores - beautiful, creative and original. you'll find that dpc as a whole can be rather conservative in interpretation. but, not all of us. the posthumous ribbons thread goes a long way to redressing the egregiously misunderstood, and team suck is a great gathering place for the tangential.
(ps, you'll be in the posthumous ribbon thread in a bit, as you're getting on of mine today (after the whole ironing, lunch making, getting them off to school thing).... shhhhhh)
o, yes, cick on the 'edit details of the image' link in the...image details section. then you can edit your comments. Message edited by author 2008-05-28 07:58:37. |

Snow Whiteby kellyoComment: this really is quite a nice image, but it's so very small that its impact is greatly reduced. |

The Unified Vergeby KaliComment: i love the deep tones in this, the dynamic, leading lines, it's a deep and dark celebration. |

High Intensity Jumpby JutildaComment: o, man, this is good. the simplicity, the contrast, the motion, the little bits of stuff in the air. this makes me happy.

Leading Me Nowhereby StagoleeComment: mmmm, nothing better than a rail fence receding in the fog. the deep tones really make this one. Message edited by author 2008-05-21 09:17:07. |
