Love the blue tones of this. Great concept and composition. I find the one cloud in the center to be a little distracting. Give the 'no editing restrictions' I probably would have cloned it out. Either way, this is a great shot and I give it a 9!

Must be Kollin... possibly?
Nice shot of the Lincoln Memorial. Most shots that you see are close ups... I like the way this shows more of the architecture. Great columns, and I love those stairs, even though you can't see them here. I've taken some night shots here as well... The lighting creates such a brownish yellow cast. I would prefer this with a little less yellow... maybe desaturate a little in editing. I also like that you included some of the lighted wall above the top facade. I never did this in any of my photos. Overall, great shot, a place I' enjoy very much! 8 from me.

This shot has some interesting lines... I like that you did it in black and white, and the sun breaks up the image and adds to the composition. The only thing I would change would have been more space below the hook. Show us the load, or show us the hook. Seems kind of stopped there and I want to see further down. Nice placement of the crane in the frame!

I like this shot because it is very unique and original as compared to other Garden challenge shots. This reminds me of those dreams where you realize you are at work or in school in your underwear!! LOL Everyone has heard of the "forgot your pants" dream, but this image brings it to a visualization for me! (No disrespect intended) The only thing I can think of that would improve this shot(for me) is to shoot from a slightly higher vantage point, shooting at a slightly steeper angle down to exclude the dark triangle (left side) and greenery (right side) at the top of the frame. ou could also employ the rule of thirds by composing with your model a little to the right of center. Still, an excellent photo and one of my favorites this week. 10 from me!

I've been to tons of hockey games, met lots of hockey players. Everything is right in theis photo except there is no anger in the eyes. Seems like this pose should be accompanied by some anger and craziness, especially in the eyes. Regardless, being a big hockey fan (Go Redwings!) I give it a 10!
PS, I can't tell from this picture, but I bet there are too many teeth in that mouth as well!!

Trilogy Trend

The first thing that caught my eye here were the blues and purples. I'd say a trilogy, espeially with a cult following and movies, is definitely a trend. I like the angle of the books, rather than a straight on shot. The only thing I would have done differently would be to crop a little tighter. You have some dark blue at the top right and the bottom left corners, which is a little distracting. Also, the edges of some small details on the right side. A tighter crop would have cleaned it up a little, although a tighter crop on top would crowd the blue symbol between the words. Anyway, nice pic and post processing.

I did some marble shots, but went with a different subject for my entry this week. I love your composition in this image. The marble details are great, and the shadow really makes the photo. Focuse, DOF, and lighting are all perfect for the subject. My only complaint is the background surface seems a little muddy and flat. I don't know how difficult it was to get your lighting the way you wanted, but I would like this better with a brighter background. I still give it an 8 for execution, composition, and detail.
