This shot strikes me right away as "elegant" and didn't even come across as IR until I read that from your comments. Everyone seems a little stumped as to how to help on this one. I can't really say I can help either. Perhaps this is because the issue is with your composition, yet the subject itself is very difficult to compose and no one can really visualize how to adjust your camera position. My suggestion is to go back to the plant and move around your camera until you find a nice composition that makes a lot of leading lines and diagonals...this should produce a similar shot that will speak more strongly to viewers.

I think this image had great potential. I like the subject and the girl is very cute...so I don't think that was the real problem. I would like to see the colors improved a little (mentioned below). I am also left wanting a little more sharpness. Lastly, I think if you had just inched over a little to your left the composition would have benefited...I just would like to see a little more of the tattooing.

Julianne - I'm not sure I can add any more than what has already been said below. I can understand if this image speaks to you, as I have a few that speak to me but nobody else. Unfortunately, this never translates into a matching score. If you want a better score, reference the below technical comments...but if you are happy with it and I think you are...be proud of it and ignore the narrow opinions that are the majority of DPC voting.

I am assuming that it is not a good thing to see all those oranges on the ground!? I heard about this...such a shame. Great picture - you could easily sell this to a newspaper or magazine.
