Beautifully done. Being a parent is certainly is full of magic & mystery and you captured it well in this pic (right down to the little bit of drool! hee hee). The love the father has is tangible here. There is a very light odd circle on the fathers forehead - not sure if that's a lighting issue but I'm still bumping you to an 8 for a job well done. Oh - and B&W is perfect here.

This is agreat idea and a lovely pic. I love the softness of the little girl. Beautifully done. IMO the background steals some of the potential away from the pic. It's dull and the tree is distracting. Maybe a deeply saturated green backgound?...maybe even next to a little pond would have added a little something to the "fairy tale" feel. Still very nicely done and so I'm bumping you to 8.

Not sure why many did not see that this is at least a tiny bit "stupid". IMO this could be considered stupid on several levels. After all, this woman is letting a massive beast toss her through the air - risking life & limb. It's sort of the same kind of stupid as the circus guy who puts his head in the mouth of a lion. Well done and sorry about the DNMC nazi's - still - top 30 ain't bad!

I'm a little sad this only got 17th. It was with my 3 top picks. Partly because it's just such nice fun shot that makes me think of those silly college days but also partly because the expression on the guy in the middle makes me laugh out loud every time I look at it! 8

Overall a nice shot and a valiant attempt but I think insect shots are a real challenge. My eyes want at least one spot on the hopper to be in sharp focus but it's just not quite there (and yet seems over sharpened in post processing - especially when looking at the hairs) and the color a little drab making this shot just feel average. Maybe cropping off an inch from the right too? Oh wait - you are from the UK - make that about 2.5 cm. Hee hee!

Gorgeous! I want to slip off my shoes and take a walk in the water. Lovely light and color - I think the bright greens just make it feel more like a painting - and the softness of the water is beautiful. Very nicely done.

This is a very cool shot. I like the perspective and it's a good idea. I think you are ripe for a painting with light challenge. Possibly would be enhanced by a little negative space at the top.
