Rice by vignir_m (181325)by hajekaComment: yes, this looks much more like rice. It would have been cool to see a little bowl of rice or something like that; however, I understand that you probably didn't want to change too much from the original for fear of dnmc. I like the b&w - adds interest and takes the yuck part out of it |

no fear ! "fear"by grigrigirlComment: hmm... this is a really cool photo, however - if I'm referring to the correct original photo, this is quite an interpretation/remake...

Log by Raish by jdannelsComment: Very beautiful photo - I like this take on the original photo. Even though the challenge criteria of the photo we're imitating doesn't apply to this challenge, it would be interesting to see what this looks like as a duotone. Great photo, I have no critiques |

Calm Cool and Collected (Textures V redo)by LadyKComment: Nice take on the original. I think a less distracting background and more detail in the texture of the cat's fur would help. I like that you have the cat's face in your take - it adds more interest. Your colors match perfectly. |

River portraitby puzzledComment: I like the person on the left, it adds more interest to the photo. I also think the girl and the dog wouldn't have taken up enough verticle space to balance the birch trees. I also love how you captured the scene in such a way that it looks like an old painting - if I didn't know better, I would have thought you put a filter on it. |

DSC_7469-becksoft.jpgby BeeCeeComment: I think that this looks great (I'm not sure if this is the one you posted originally or if it's a newer version, but I'll still comment on this particular one) I would leave the softness and leave her eyes dark (I don't like the lighter brown version). You could try using a layer mask to selectively lighten or desaturate the red in her nose and cheeks (whichever looks best) and possibly clone out some (not all) of the reflection in her eyes - but those are just tiny nit-picky things that may not even work out like I'm imagining. I went to try my hand at your original, but I wouldn't even know where to start. I think this turned out great. |
