Warren Zevonby bladComment: This photo - the expression on the house's face - everything - is such an enigma. Well done! :-) |

Flower Abstractionby RikkiComment: I also think the green spots and the saturation levels are a little distracting, but overall I love the composition, and the effect gives it a very painterly feel. I'd hang this on my wall. :-) |

unwilling subjectby briantammyComment: A picture worth a thousand words! Fantastic capture. A child so full of character and expression, too - she's darling! |

Christian persecution complex, anyone?
While the shot has some nice colours and details, the image as a whole does look contrived and "weak" for such powerful imagery.
Your reaction to critique reminds me of when I was moderating a poetry forum. Anyone that wrote anything in praise of their Lord (which ever one that might be, according to their culture), would assume that they were above critique due to the "holy" nature of their subject matter. But this is not the case, and many truly awful poems were written for and about God/s. Now this is far from a truly awful photograph - there is much to like about it, but also much that could have been done better. Makka's critique was spot-on, imho.
I would like to have seen this girl's pose and facial expressions look more laboured, more tortured; and some burning of the sky to make it more dramatic, like the God/s are angry. Something to give more drama to it all!
Sonifo, the photographer chose this subject matter, so it is the photographer's job to make it work. It's a pretty picture, but it is not a powerful one. Sorry if I come across as harsh, but I don't buy into the idea that if someone choses a religious theme, they are automatically exempt from anything other than high praise. |

87090dpc.jpgby lynnesiteComment: This is breathtaking! WOW!
It has everything - drama, action, power, fragility... the imagery is like classical mythology! I don't read romance novels, but skiprow is right about this being perfect as a cover. It's certainly among the sexiest and most romantic images I've seen in a while. *swoons* |

Jadeby sherpetComment: Hey, again you've caught my eye! And again the image is both luscious and sublime. And very painterly. Very, very, VERY nice! |
