Just a puff.....and they will be goneby BMacDComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
Let me start off by saying you met the challenge very nicely. This is definately something soft and delicate.
You have a nice macro here but you have some lighting issues. Some of the white is blown out from over exposure.
As for your composition its good but I think you would have a stronger presentation by taking it from a different angle. The brown of the plant in the foreground takes from it.
Overall I think you have a nice photo its just the minor flaw with the lighting that truly hurt you.

WOW what a first entry and what an outstanding concept you used here the fertilized egg and the light.
About the only thing I see that could have been done differently was a tighter crop on the hands and that is being picky to even say that. This is a fantastic first entry. Hope to see you with a ribbon in the near future.
Best wishes in your next entry.

little brotherby frumoazniculComment: I do like your concept here. I actually was thinking of trying something similar to this with my two boys but the baby is just to small and yes delicate to try something like this with.
Now first thing I would do to improve this is get rid of that bag at his feet it is distracting. Second would be the position of his head he looks like he is looking down the road rather than at his little brother. The little brother also looks stiff not natural at all.
I would also try cropping that some they just seem to centered. Your lighting and focus are both good and the use of b & w adds to the emotion. Overall its a very nice photo and it fits the challenge.

Flight on Whiteby jorrComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
Welcome to DPChallenge. This being your first challenge I feel it only fair to point out a few thing to help you in future challenges.
First off don't try to crop in on something small in a photo. You will end up with an image that looks very boxy, meaning you will have a very pixelated photo and see each little color box to your image when you try to make it larger. Which to me is probably what you did here.
Next try to get as close to 640 x 480 on your finished image everyone around here likes the larger sizes shows more detail.
Finally make sure your subject is in good focus. If the bird is your subject it should be in better focus.
Hope this helps you some in future challenges. And yeap I made the size mistake too in my first challenge. A lot of people do.

Balanceby neophyteComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
Nice take on the challenge...one slight bump and the balance would be gone.
Other than meeting the challenge this just doesn't do anything for me. It lacks excitement...maybe it needed a piece of wood under it to appear as though it really was checking the balance of things or perhaps shot on an angle. But it just doesn't do anything for me like this.
Now that I'm done saying this I must admit you have good focus its a nice macro and your lighting is all good it just isn't something to my personal like...sorry.

Holding on ...by funkyfunkComment: Greetings from the Critque Club
Such emotion here definately fits the challenge well.
Your lighting and dof are perfect here.
The only real thing I noticed that was wrong here was the print on the babys clothes.
I'm not going to try and point out flaws here cause really there isn't much here to improve on this is already outstanding.

Delicate Womanby BlakeWS99Comment: Greetings from the critique club
You have a very nice composition here she is fairly well in focus your background is slightly blurred to keep from distracting. Overall its a nice family portrait.
Do I see delicate no not at all what I see is a very pretty girl in a somewhat shy pose but I have no reason to think delicate.
Your lighting is a little harsh as her nose is getting lost in the light.
Again you have a nice portrait you just didn't convey delicate all that well.

If you push, I'll breakby EnnilComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
I'm going to start off by saying what is that a chain of coins? All I know is it takes away from the entire image which is otherwise stunning.
The lighting here is perfect it creates an air of mystery.
The limited focus works wonders here.
With all the black and white going on here those lips of her could use a more color, not much but just a hint more of pink or red. She has beautifully shaped lips they should stand out more.
I really do like this with the exception of the chain of whatevers that seem distracting. It should have scored higher and I'm guessing many voters said whats so delicate about this without thinking beauty is delicate...it disappears without warning.

Old Rosesby MQuinnComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
First off your backround isn't working too many wrinkles distracting. A nice old hankerchief or a fine linen or even a little old lace would have enhanced the delicate age of the flowers.
As for the flowers...they are beautiful and you captured them nicely. They way they are laying there works for this.
Your lighting is an issue you have to much darkness around the edges. However at the same time you did well not to have any distracting shadows on your flowers.
I hope to see more of your work in the future.

balance of natureby whiteroomComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
Very crisp and clean image nice dof here. The tones are beautiful. Lighting is perfect I don't even see a shadow in this.
As I am looking at this I almost expect to see a buzzard flying into it....it just looks so real.
I really don't see anything you could truly do to improve on this. It stands well on its own. Nicely done.
