Clear as Crystalby kgattComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
Ok you got delicate without a question and nailed the perspective with a limited dof by focusing only on the front piece of stemware.
I like the composition and the blue seems to add interest here.
The one flaw that my eyes were drawn to instantly was the reflection you have in that first glass its distracting. You might want to watch your light sources to avoid that...it appears to be a sliding glass door in the reflection. |

Crystals of the Unicornby jessirooComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
As I am looking at this there is one thing that stands out to me the placement. You are cropped so tight on the right side that you should have balanced it out by cropping tighter on the bottom.
Your lighting seemed to be fairly good here you only have a small amount of glare going on. You also have good detail.
I don't see a true white background though I see a bit of a pink hue, probably from working in sepia mode.
If I had to pick one thing here though that hurt you in this challenge it would be the subject...the unicorn just does nothing for me here, I'd rather be looking at more detail to the cuts than the pewter figure. |

Mandevilla in Full Sunby BosborneComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
Nice presentation of the flower. The detail is good the lighting works well and you have a lot of potential with macros and flowers.
I do think you could improve on this in two different ways cropping being the first get rid of that leaf it just distracts when you have white and black. Second try different angles on that flower.
Best wishes on your future enteries and don't give up that was a nice first entry.

Very nice image. I like the detail you have captured here excellent focus and dof is outstanding.
This definately fits the challenge well.
Your background appears to be a little to busy though to many "stripes" of color going on. |

Soft & Cleanby lolor275Comment: Greetings from the Critique Club
Nice attempt at the challenge. Just one question why is that one towel on the bottom left not as neat as the rest. Amazing that is what stands out to me is that one towel.
Your lighting is a little off you have some shadows up at the top of the towels.
You have a decent amount of texture here so that adds some interest.
I would consider cropping this differently though that dark wall does nothing for this photo.
As someone else said one towel taking up most of the frame would work. It would come off as a stronger image then.

"Light" on White (LOL)by mfairbanksComment: Greetings from the Critique Challenge
There is one in every challenge...and obviously you win the silly award for this challenge. No doubt about it you nailed the challenge subject light on white.
You have one major flaw here your white balance...its too blue you need to adjust that some to get rid of the blue tones. Also your lighting would have solved that problem
Your composition is good and the use of negative space works for this.
Nice way to add some grins to a stark white challenge...lol

Golden treasure inside is hidby bulletheadComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
Nice composition. Good idea definately a delicate situation for that egg.
I like the slow shutter speed here it works for the message you are trying to convey.
What I really don't like is the glare on the egg, it's distracting and takes away from an otherwise flawless egg. The reflection in your stoneware is also distracting but as for the mark you mention in your background I didn't notice til after I read your comment.
I think you may have done better though with a white egg would have made your composition a lot stronger.
Best wishes

Afternoon Teaby missinseattleComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
Nice take on the challenge...china definately is delicate. Now with that being said I think your composition is what hurt you. A lace tablecloth and the dried roses laying next to a china cup and saucer would have conveyed delicate just as nicely and you would have avoid the busy background you created with the napkin. Perhaps you could even have included that napkin by folding it and laying the roses on top of it.
Your lighting is also an issue, natural light can often be harsh and that is exactly what happened to you, shooting this at a time when the sun wasn't as strong could have prevented this problem.
Your idea is there you just needed to simplify it to make it more appealing.

Beautiful landscape. The colors here are stunning and the tranquility of the water just makes it so delicate. As I'm looking at it I almost wish someone would skip a rock into the water just to make more ripples.
Its hard to improve on something this beautiful but I'm thinking a little more light on the sides so the trees weren't so shadowed would improve it but thats even questionable.
Good eye on this.

Ok, but this is the LAST ONE!by wee_agComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
ROFL...yeah thats what I am doing this photo just makes you want to laugh. I could see this becoming a whimsical greeting card for the avid pool player.
Your limited dof here works well, the composition is good as well as humorous.
Only thing I can think of that might improve this is just a tad more light at the other end of the pool table and that is even questionable.
I would have to say oh yes this without a doubt meets the challenge...Now lets have some scrambled eggs while playing pool.
