I wonder if you had run this through "Neat Image" if it might have created a more silky effect on the coat? There is a lot of noise in this image, which si a pity, because it is a great portrait. I might have adjusted Balance/Contrast too, to take down the blown out spots on the ear and chest? Great subject for the challenge.

Spectacular! The land line is virtually centred...but the river leads the eys through to the left and then again off to an invisible right, which breaks that midline cut. Very very blue sky and water, but somehow this time I like the saturation.

Oh how funny! Love this image. I wish you had allowed for some light to fall on the cover of the book so that less of the image was dominated by shadow/dark. The hair, the eyes, just say it all.
