Image is a tad busy - my eye is a little confused by the lack of distinction between the elements - might just be my personal taste. Our feathered friend is almost smack dab in the center, too, which makes it seem more like a snapshot than a real deliberate & thoughtfully composed work. I'm pretty much a newbie here, though, so take my comments with a grain of salt - just 'cause I'm being critical doesn't mean I think MY stuff is doing any better! Good luck!

'Diagonal' connection a bit of a leap; head in lower right provides more distraction than interest. Most everyone has seen a real 'wow' firework so this moment seems a little tame & thus doesn't evoke a lot of emotion. I'm pretty much a newbie here, though, so take my comments with a grain of salt - just 'cause I'm being critical doesn't mean I think MY stuff is doing any better! Good luck!

Decent tie, but focus seems a little soft & colors/contrast a bit muted. I'm pretty much a newbie here, though, so take my comments with a grain of salt - just 'cause I'm being critical doesn't mean I think MY stuff is doing any better! Good luck!

This ties in well with the challenge, but I'm missing the 'wow' factor. Perhaps slightly deeper DOF (I sorta feel the spine should be in focus as well) & creative lighting would have brought more to the party. Although the rainbow makes for an interesting start here, everything else seems a bit lacking & overall I'm left sort of disinterested. Framing is such that it seems like the horizon might be off & I can't help but wonder if there isn't more interesting stuff on top of the hill. This may have had better impact if it had been framed landscape instead of portrait? I'm pretty much a newbie here, though, so take my comments with a grain of salt - just 'cause I'm being critical doesn't mean I think MY stuff is doing any better! Good luck!

I love the colors & silhouettes in this piece, but "diagonal" seems to have been interpreted loosely - yes, I see the dock but it doesn't play a large enough role in the composition for me to see it weigh heavily as an angle factor. I'm pretty much a newbie here, though, so take my comments with a grain of salt - just 'cause I'm being critical doesn't mean I think MY work is any beter!

I'd say it still is pretty good, thumbnail drew my interest for sure - it would be awesome with a bit of those fancy noise removers like neatimage or noise ninja. I'm gonna add it to my favs, but let me know if you ever clean it up so I can see it again.

This was the first film I saw in film school back in 1993 & loved it - your photo portrays the emotion of that scene well!

In some ways, I like this one a bit better than the first - though I didn't score the first one low (7). I prefer the skin and wall tones of the first, but the framing, pose & shadow is nicer here. Hmmmm... 8
