I like the meaning of this image. It reminds me that not everyone who dies in war is Rambo - a 25 to 35 year old WAR GOD or something. Some "veterans" of the Korean War, WW I and II were vets at 19. That being said, there are a few parts of the image that are blown out - but otherwise I like the composition and imagery.

Annyong haseo! I spent a year in Korea myself, teaching kids just like this one! It's a beautiful country. This shot really takes me back. I have a folder full of my kids. What was his English name? :) They all seem to have them. (I named a kid "Marx" once. Funny cuz I meant Groucho and he spent a weekend researching Karl.

The picture is slightly out of focus, but that doesn't detract from the image. He's focusing hard enough! I don't like the reallllly light blue shirt distracting from his face tho - his concentration is key and I would burn the shirt a little to darken it enough that it didn't distract me.

The smoke is pretty cool in this. There seems to be a slight blur but that may be more smoke. My other nit is the composition - it's very centered left/right. However, I do like the smoke and the colors. It's a well captured image and I'm surprised a 5.7 score has only ONE comment. :)

I see w o r d in there too. (of course I see t u r d too, so .... ) I think this is an average taken on this. The lighting it alright, but nothing specactular.
