Magdaby beatabgComment: The hand is a curious element in this one. That sets it apart from most other face in the window light shots like this. It adds a ? to the mix. |

A Catby beatabgComment: There are a lot of nice elements in this photo. After checking out the cat, all the curious patterns come into view. The pattern in the stonework in the foreground is excellent with the shadow of the fence. It looks like the shadow does not match the fence in the top of the image. It's a good eye teaser. |

The playground in the middle looks like some kind of fantasy train that's about to roar off into the upside down forest of darkness. This is great stuff! You might try scanning it flipped over to make it read left to right. |

cropped final imageby jmritzComment: This version feels a lot better. It looks like it was shot to take advantage of the triangular shape of the frame. That is an interesting rig you shot this with.

Fireworks of Autumnby maz001Comment: This would have probably placed much higher if you had been able to include the whole tree.
Another problem is that this is posted much smaller than the 800 pixel longest side, size that is allowed in the challenges, making it appear much smaller than the other photos in the challenge.
It's a beautiful tree though, and the blue sky is a big plus. A lower angle would have shown more of that awesome fall sky to give the tree more punch in the image.
Keep shootin'. |

0139-000by bvyComment: To me, it looks a lot more interesting than a technically classy stitched pan. The way the images slosh into each other is great, creating their own world of fantasy to stir the imagination. Definitely good stuff.
My thoughts are that if you wish to work out a way to have the advance calibrated a little better, you may try spooling a roll of 35mm film exposed with a regular camera into this camera, so you can see how far you have to turn the film advance to move ahead one frame. Check near each end of the roll, and if it's a lot different at the long end and short end, adjust as you go and maybe it will work out.
Another way would be to put a little springy item inside the camera that would line up with the sprocket holes and click as the holes move along. You could then listen or feel, to count the "clicks" in order to know when the film is advanced far enough for the next frame. Message edited by author 2012-10-22 00:53:49. |
