Don't like the tricksy bordering, I'm afraid. Nice capture of a moment of stillness though, there's real calm in this shot. Whilst I'm sure it's 'from above', it's so close to horizontal that for me it doesn't really meet the challenge.

Beautiful - no criticisms at all, unless it might be fractionally too contrast-y for my taste - but that really is fractionally. Love the effect of the DOF - gives real height to the shot.

It bugs me that this isn't taken absolutely vertically - just really close to it. Really interesting shot, but something so form-al for me demands to be symmetrical. Lots of good things though: DOF, focus, light, exposure ...

I like this kind of photography enormously - but I don't think this is so successful: not sure why (it's only my impression), but perhaps there's too much distraction here - the 'plants', the snow, the bits of rubbish. Without that it would approach a sort of abstract quality, rather than being just a pile of rubble. Cool pile of rubble, though.

Wonderful shot, just lacking (for me) a suggestion that it's taken downwards. Whilst I'm sure it is, there's nothing to say it isn't. Not a specific requirement, I know, but for me an implicit requirement.

Vertical climb

Fabulous detail, great colour, great shot in general. For the challenge though, there's nothing to give an impression of the verticality of this climb - nothing that says this isn't a horizontal leaf. I'm not suggesting it's made up, but that the shot needs an element to say 'shooting down'. There wasn't a requirement to make that point in the challenge, obviously, but it's an element I feel is necessary in this case. Still a very good photo though
