Patienceby StrikeslipComment: In regards to this thread, having taken a very quick shot in PS, I feel like had the image been exposed better and you'd adjusted for darkness with midtones, you could retain the dark feeling but give it a bit more something. As it is, you've lost a fair bit of detail in your shadows and the whole image feels rather flat.
Regarding composition, which you didn't ask for opinions on but which I'll give anyway since I'm here...I think the two main subjects, the lighthouse and the group of two people, compete against each other for focal point. I have no idea what the scene outside your shot looked like but pretending it looks like I want it do (when does it?), more empty space on the right might help offset this. Love the idea of the shot, though.
(Of course, you're the one with 3 red ribbons while I have...umm...hey, it's snowing!) Message edited by author 2007-04-04 10:58:48. |

Peace, Love, and Rock 'n Rollby maxaz1Comment: This is neat because I just saw an exhibit at the local Institute of Arts called San Francisco Psychedelic. One whole room was posters from the Avalon and the Fillmore - a lot for the eyes to process! Nice setup. I'm not sure I'm crazy about the border here but I suppose it fits in quite well. (Not voting, just passing through. :) ) |

The Ultimate Driving Machineby Rob OComment: Originally posted by admajic: Looks like the reflections from the red interior may have a hand in this. [...] No colour cast. |
You contradict yourself here.
If you run your eyedropper over the image and look at the color info, you can see that it's a bit heavy on the red.
A nicely lit, low key image but lacks a dynamic aspect to really give it impact. |
