Nice sharp set of macros, with nice bokeh in the background. I think I like this one the best, with the snow on the pod and the nicely blurred grass blades in the background. Thanks for joining the walkabout!

Tack sharp and a very nice background to set it off. This one really meets the spirit of the challenge for me, because its the kind of subject that can get lost among the brightly colored leaves and flowers, but has a nice quiet beauty all its own. Thanks for joining this month's walkabout!

I love upwards tree shots, and this is a nice one that shows off the contrasting colors and highlights the shape of the tree canopy very well. Nicely seen!

I Spy...Popcorn

Great idea ... but you got hammered by the speed voters. My daughters all loved the I Spy books when they were little. One thing about those books is that the set ups are pretty involved, and there's a lot to look at in the pictures other than the things you are trying to "spy." It looks like you spent some time finding things for your set up, but your shot ended up looking more like a quick snapshot of your kitchen junk drawer (c'mon, admit it, you know we all have them!) with some popcorn thrown in. A more careful set up with some attention to composition and storytelling (as in the I Spy books) would have scored much better. Even still, the colors and selection of junk are nice and the idea is fantastic. I think this should have scored much better than it did, and it got more 1s, 2s and 3s than it should have.

I like the lighting on the other shot much better, but this is a great one to compare and contrast the different feelings we get from different light. This shot looks kind of flat and the colors and textures not as rich, particularly on the leaves. The previous shot from the opposite side has a lot more color and detail, particularly in the leaves. Nice subject to explore.

What a great find on your walkabout. Love the contrasting colors, as well as the rust that matches the leaves. This would be a great place to go back to for something old this week.

I like how the early morning light leaves that strong red line on the side of the lighthouse. Saturation is a bit overdone on the foreground water, but I like the effect everywhere else.
