Simplicity by Dax- by IreneMComment: Really like the idea with the ripples, does a better job than what the "flood filter" tries to achieve (but never really does it right) in Photoshop - and all in-camera.
If there was any critique to offer - you have used a very sharp gradient in your selective sharpening / blurring of the area around the flower which detracts from image. Congrats on yet another ribbon - i fear you may do well in the upcoming minimalism challenge too ;) |

A is for ______by rozComment: ...the scientific classification of a "Spider" which many people will not guess within the first 5 seconds of looking at this photo... and some wont even get.
Nice detail, colour and lighting - but not sure about the photo as a whole - the close crop, composition and POV dont seem to work for me. |

Reverbby RKTComment: The comment you reference, although mistaken about shadow vs reflection, does have a point - i'd love to see this reshot on a non-glass based mirror surface... the ethereal quality of the rocks with the backlight make the shot what it is. Great stuff! |

Walking the Dogby TransitComment: I cant stop thinking what would have happened if you had let go (and then giggling a little at the thought of the dog going off on its own little adventure among the tree-tops - reminds me of that pixar film Up) - i assume those balloons arent actually lifting the dog but some wire is attached to the tree?
Very creative and certainly edgy :) |

Floating Dreamby gyabanComment: Very nice serene photo with lovely pastel colours to match the mood :)
Kudos to your wife for putting up with a mad photographer husband - i'm sure there are many "long suffering" other halves out there - and i speak from experience as the photographer ;) *applause*

How Can You Live In The Northeastby MarikaComment: You may well have wanted the focus on the hat - but it doesnt work - i'm drawn to her eyes and the rest puts it into context - would have preferred sharp focus on her leading eye, at the moment it looks as if it is just infront of her eyelashes... :( Very nice shot in every other respect tho :) |

"inshaala" Is Arabic for "If God wills it"by HighNoonerComment: nice job on the concept =)
I'm with Yo_Spiff on this one, a bit close of a crop, might have also benefitted from being taken so that you look into the frame (ie are standing more on the left of the photo so you can see both your back and the shot you are trying to take) it would also help the composition a bit more.
I now have a photo for my name! Thanks =) |
