Good attempt. The reds are noticeable and easily fixed. I would also crop it differently. The negative space on the left is distracting. A tighter crop and his look would make it more engaging. If you notice a lot of pro headshots have the models on an angle or slight head tilt and the models seem to "come into the frame". Try and play around with different angles and poses.
