Cheeks You Gotta Pinch!by

Hi Rooster,
Nice portrait you've got here. Seen from your work you are really good at capturing facial expressions and picking good subjects.
In my opinion this submission just barely meets the challenge since only the title gives away the defining feature. I wouldn't say that it doesn't meet the challenge though and I don't think you got voted down on it.
I see people are commenting on your dof but I think it's good. The main focus in on her left eye and my eyes got drawn right to it and the beautiful smile. Black background (burned?) and the white cloth make an excellent "isolation" for the subject, the beautiful face of this happy girl.
Lighting is a bit harsh coming from a flash unit and I would prefer it was diffused a bit more since it highlights a few spots more than others. Reflector on the left side would maybe help (If you set this up, looks like a spur of the moment kind of thing - a great moment to capture)
You really seem to know your camera and your post processing so I won't go into these things.
One thing I really would like to see (I say this in most of my critiques), I would like to see the Photographer's Comments field filled with info. Explain the occation, how your setup was, what lens you used and such, it would really enhance the learning experiance for most of us if people would use this field more.
Over all I would say this is a great portrait, maybe not technically perfect, but what's more imortant, a photo that communicates a true feeling and spirit. I'm not a fan of harsh flash lighting, but this one does not go over the line, so to speak.
Hope this comment is worth something.
Best regards, Tyrkinn (excuse the english, I'm Icelandic)
