Snail on roseby biggood53Comment: Nice details of the snail and the rose petals. Maybe the background could have been made less visible with the use of curves. Lighting is a bit bright and almost too direct. |

Natures Wayby timganierComment: Very vibrant colors that feel a bit oversaturated although they provide an excellent contrast to the more or less plain background. Slight vingetting in the upper and lower left corners that should have been cropped out. Nice use of DOF to concentrate on the middle section of flowers. |

Snake eyesby johnmComment: Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the term snake eyes mean both die show the number 1? It's rather difficult to tell here which number I'm supposed to look at but I see the number 5 on both first then the others. Lighting is also quite harsh and bright. I like the use of DOF to concentrate focus on the foreground die "ball" and it looks good. |

Spin Your Tail Feathersby slgardnerComment: Nice sharp focus overall and that also hurts this image. I would have chosen a much simpler background without a pattern as not to disctract from the main subject. |

Silver Leaf Spoonby admart01Comment: Lighting seems bright and focus is a bit off. I also see evidence of jagged lines which is probably due to resizing, too much compression or oversharpening. |

Rosaceae Minutiaby adineComment: Very good as a b/w. I really like this one a lot. Crisp details and the petals are, for the most part, nicely focused. Off centered just enough to make it interesting. Tonal range seems a bit shallow as I see a dark gray as your blackpoint. Maybe you have a black near the middle but it's hard to tell. Great job overall. 8 |

...With Fur and Wingsby ellamayComment: Wow, I knew moths were fuzzy but never that fuzzy. Nice sharp details of every stand of fuzz (except for the upper portions of the wings). Looks like the moth is a bit overexposed and maybe some curves and levels adjustment could fix that. Nice job overall. |

First Insect Macroby BruBComment: For some reason, my eyes feel more drawn to the orange part of the flower vs the bee. You did an excellent job with the composition and DOF is also good. I like how I can still make out the background as flowers but enough details are lost so they are not distracting. I think you also used a bit too much compression or maybe it's just noise. |

Pollinationby GordonComment: Excellent job with composition and focus. Just seems a bit too centered for my tastes. I guess I'm an off-center type of guy. Contrast seems a bit bright, as well as I don't see anything really near a blackpoint. Many areas could be if adjusted properly such as the eyes, legs and the thorax. If the back part is not the thorax, please excuse me. :) |

In Flightby dphillipsComment: Excellent opportunity marred by the wonders of auto focus. Too bad AF chose to see the leaf vs the fly. |
