The beginning of spring.by WILDBLUEComment: beautiful rose. .. colors are a bit muted though. a bit sharper focus toward the center. nice composition with the petals forming almost concentric circles. |

Charlieby KonadorComment: nice portrait. looks like he is smiling. good catch lights in the eyes.. gives them depth. focus is right on, and where it should be. I also like the tangible feeling of the textures. |

Cute as a Bugs Earby SonifoComment: look at those eyes! and the wisps of curly hair!
lighting is nice and even, until you get to the shiny spots on the nose, cheek and forehead. nice catchlights in the eyes, though. a bit of drool on the baby's chin makes it too shiny there, too. nice choice of background. watch on the profile that the nose doesn't cut the cheek. turning the head a bit more toward the lens would eliminate that.
I am not saying any of this is easy, and I realize this is a small child. I do this as my job, and so I handle small children's photos all the time. I am just pointing out what would make this "perfect", but I think this is overall a very well done portrait, and shows that "cliche" doesn't have to look "cliche". Good for you! You have helped to prove the point. |

Where tomorrow liesby macroviperaComment: this is so interesting! wow! makes an impact due to the subject, composition, and colors. I am dissappointed only in the noisey quality. looks like a windmill/whirlygig. I luv this, and despite the noise it is a favorite! nice work! |

From Fruit to Juiceby nathaliedooComment: great composition. the addition of the green leaf breaks up the oranges and reds just enough. also adds to the fresh picked feeling. nice sharpness and clarity. A bit shiny with the lighting. maybe a diffuser? anyway.. that is only a nit pick. I like this alot. |

Droplet to Poolby FrooberComment: the inevitable .... like seeing into the future - what the water will do when the drops land. clear, concise, sharp. i esp. like how the bottom drop is cut in 2 from the light.. creating a ying/yang effect. balance. there is also balance in the circle shape of the dish, and the pattern on the floor, yet in contrast to the background and in contrast to the 3 drops. marvelous! |

Coal to Diamondby karmatComment: awesome idea. i think the composition is lacking in that the ring could be facing a bit more to the lens.. maybe more of a 3/4 view rather than profile. nice use of dof.. a bit dark. but I generally like it. |

Insalata Capreseby GraciousComment: great colors,(and yummy looking, btw). Not as sharp as it could be, and it bothers me that the sliced tomatoe on the bottom is so close to the edge of the frame. also, a little lower angle, I feel, would contribute greatly to the image. |
