Vintage Lucite Purseby GraciousComment: Since the purse is the subject of the picture (according to the title and challenge), it may have been better to crop the glove and get the entire purse in the picture. Cropping out the very top would have taken away that "glimpse beyond" as well. I assume that it was difficult to photograph, because not only is it transparent, it probably reflects a lot of light, too. For that reason, maybe having two sources of light (one on either side) and diffused somehow (paper towels work well), may have helped you to keep from washing the right side out. I like the contrast of the black gloves and the pastels of the flowers and purse. karmat |

Drunk in the Alleyby AleciaComment: B/W works well for this I think. A dirty/holey shirt and pants would've really set the mood, too I think. So, next time, find a drunk, dress him up, dump him in an alley, and take a picture. :-) |

Public Transit?by ClubJuggleComment: If the trolley sign were more noticeable, I think the picture would have had more impact. I almost missed it. |

Botanical Gardenby myqylComment: This picture comes across as kinda flat. Maybe if you had gotten a macro of the weeds growing between the concrete it would have had more depth. |

City of people - City of joyby ssComment: The light pole makes it seem as if this picture should be symmetrical. Since it's not, I think if the pole had been further right or left it would have been better. For example, if the pole was further right, the red "tents" would have given the shot more balance. |

Urban Oasisby stephanComment: To me, the most interesting part of your picture is at the bottom. While I think I understand that you were trying to put the tree in front of the tall building, a close up of the bird, if possible, would have been nice, also. |

Basket Caseby GotchaComment: Oh man. Talk about a picture that evokes emotion. O guess I could nit-pick about composition, etc., but the picture just holds my attention. 10 (Wonder if he got a ticket for parking beside a meter? Sorry, couldn't resist) |

Drowningby drewmediaComment: Let me guess, he has an extreme allergy problem! :-) As far as the picture goes, it is focused well, and I think I like the different colors. As far as the subject matter goes, why would someone want to walk around with that on their head? |

Renton, Seattle, Airport, etc.by SwashbucklerComment: The colors are really muted. Was it a hazy day? In my limited knowledge, there are filters that help correct for that for some cameras (of course I can't find them for mine). Playing with the saturation levels may help too. |
