EXCELLENCE - When Only the Best is Good Enoughby dtremainComment: Good borders and sentiment. Seems to call for a view that shows only one best car to go with the statement. The one in the background clutters and distracts (but you got an excellent exposure on that one, shiny and saturated color with a few specular highlights). I wish the yellow car could have less white highlight on the right end of the hood, and that the brand name lettering could have looked all chrome instead of half greenery. |

Sunriseby GermaineComment: Wonderful composition and lighting. This would be a great illustration for a chapter about ancient Greek adventurers discovering the vortex. |

Hogby nixterComment: The grain and black/white treatment fit the grittiness of the subject very well. |

In Hot Pursuitby GermaineComment: Fun how they look like they are all airborn at the same time. The curved patterns of legs and feet almost meld into hobby-horse rocker shapes. From that, along with the bright colors, they begin to look like toys. Nice. |

mean nature.jpgby pcodyComment: Hey, I clicked to comment as soon as I spotted this in the side challenge. I think the curve of the twig/vine lends an elegance to the composition, while the texture (screen? safety glass?) compliments the dark tones to add an element of mystery. I like the pattern of illumination too. |

Working without the Internetby LouisaComment: I though that exactly this approach to the topic would be a fun entry, but with a manual typewriter - then didn't enter anything. I love your choice of tone and leaving the network cable blue. Easily in my top 10 for this challenge. |

i catch fish with a pole, not a netby itakephotosComment: Man are those poles long! Great image with the lines of the poles giving a bit of drama. I already got it that fishing with poles is different than fishing with a net. I fear many will reduce the score because of the title. After a small internal struggle, I concluded that your originality on the positive side makes up for the title on the negative side, at least well enough to not mark this down from an 8. |

Tall Shipmatesby Bear_MusicComment: Exactly without a net. Nice choice of perspective to have the cross piece at the same elevation as the clouds. With no ship or water visible, I get the uneasy feeling of a vessle moving high through the sky (but the sailors don't look like the crew for Peter Pan). Wonderful image. |

Risky Businessby blemtComment: Spot on for the challenge. Seems like the person could be focused a little sharper, but I enjoy the image a lot, plus it makes me get that funny feeling in the pit of the stomach. |
