Wow, I love the effect of the snow here. The light lining the frame of the door is absolutely perfect. Lol @ hiding behind a post.

I love this! What a great expression and the window frames his face perfectly. Favorite.

I strongly dislike the processing in this. Sorry :(

Very nice lines. I think the foreground could stand to be cropped a bit, to just near where the step meets the edge of the frame.

I'm quite surprised that this is the only sport-related bench in this challenge. The idea of being benched was the first thing to come to my mind when this challenge was announced, though I didn't enter. I think you've captured the idea of "losing" very well here with the cheerleaders standing in the background, but I'm less fond of the processing. I don't mind the selective de-saturation as much as I usually do (perhaps because it's subtle, but I'm not fond of the diffuse glow or whatever is giving that effect.

I think that for this to be effective, the bird needs to be larger in the frame, or not competing so much with the branches behind it.

There's too much going on here for me. The branches and trunk do not exactly frame the house so much as cover it. While I see that there is light coming from behind the house, this image doesn't really exemplify the theme.

Though I appreciate the attempt to make this unique by going with B/W, I don't think it works for me. The greys kind of blend in together and causes the focus to appear off, though I don't believe it really is.

While this is indeed backlit, there is just not enough here to hold my interest.
