Hello sir by otto22Comment by GeorgesBogaert: Trump Rock :) The person makes your title fit. I am sure that cloning out the left rock formation would make it more impressive. Nice shot, A 7 from me
After reviewing I see a second face on the left rock and have to bump the score up to 9. |

Last sunlight of the dayby otto22Comment by riot: Just the same things to say about this as your other recent image of the same location - you have the same dark halos around the crags which really distract from an otherwise strong composition and good colours. There's also a smudge of contrast loss from where it looks like some flare has been cleaned up a bit on the left side, opposite the sun.
I know you didn't mark my last comment pointing out the same flaws in your other image as helpful, so I'm going to assume you're not especially interested in improving your work - I'm simply leaving this comment for anyone who may come across this image later and wish to learn something from it. |

Last sunlight of the dayby otto22Comment by JakeKurdsjuk: (posting on both shots and not voting)
Absolutely lovely photo, but after seeing this already in a challenge and seeing another nearly identical photo in this one I'm very much inclined to vote lower than I would had this been the first time I was seeing the shot. With that said, I much prefer the "30+ Second" image to either of these. |

From Siberia to Icelandby otto22Comment by sidpixel: Hello from the critique club
An interesting image that contributes well to the challenge
A very appealing landscape with great foreground interest and detail from this lovely textured and coloured wood stump. The near mono of the landscape really helps make the wood stand out and brings out the lovely detail of this battered and weathered wood that as your title suggests has travelled many miles driven by the forces of nature to this its present temporary resting place. The black volcanic sands act as a great contrasting backdrop for the wood making it stand out much more than a typical sandy beach. The small aperture and effective use of focal point have worked really well to give you the full depth of field necessary to make this image work as well as it does, well done Otto. |
