the unfortunate truthby LoViComment by streetpigeon: Though I didn't comment on the pictures in this challenge, I did cast votes and this was my clear favorite. Although this image is steeped in pain, it's swaddled in beauty. It's like a finely controlled charcoal drawing that both plummets and soars in tonation. You have to make some effort to discern the face, which then easily transmogrifies into a skull. Then there's the dagger of a pipe. The background has a cubist feel. I don't know what white object in the upper right is, but I choose to think it's an ax. |

Insodusby LoViComment by LoVi: This was taken at Middlecreek Wildlife Sanctuary during the annual migration of Tundra Swans and Snow Geese. There were over 60,000 birds there the evening nikonjeb and I went over to take photos. Incredible! |
