This was taken in the Middlecreek Wildlife Sanctuary between Lebabnon and Lancaster, Pa. on the evening of the full moon when over 60,000+ Snow Geese and Tundra Swans were migrating. Jeb and I had a grand time watching them take off and land.....some coming in V's of 100+....landing on the frozen lake...some taking flight. A beautiful breathtaking evening.

This was taken at Middlecreek Wildlife Sanctuary during the annual migration of Tundra Swans and Snow Geese. There were over 60,000 birds there the evening nikonjeb and I went over to take photos. Incredible!

very nice... the long orientation accentuates the flight.

Didn't have time to comment on this earlier. What a glorious evocation of flight! I love how the birds are chopped up and glittering. The sinuous curve of the horizon is beautiful. It reminds me of an Escher print wherein birds shift in color as day turns to night, but actually, not technically. Terribly underrated.

I like how this image becomes more abstract towards the bottom. Quite an interesting texture you've created.

Brave entry. Blurred birds. Nice. Great time of day too to portray that last minute exodus, or arrival.
