Chicago -11 by Ken950Comment by grogan: 8 - Nice photo. May be worth cloning out the white spec in the sky (star trail?) as it's a bit distracting |

Before Texting..by Ken950Comment by BJokerud: I would have worked more with high lights and shadows here, two curves layers, one in screen blending mode and one in multiply, then invert the masks and brush out high lights in screen and shadows in multiply. 10% opacity brush is usually good. And also darkened the background, and maybe used a subtle vignette. But that's what I would've done. Nice shot though! 8 |

Before Texting..by Ken950Comment by Nicht: This is a proper DPC top 10. The one thing to make me minus a point is the tilt (although it's not so bad). |

The Bog Boardwalkby Ken950Comment by Ken950: Originally posted by BrennanOB: I second Larry's comment. I had it at a 7 for the framing, but with a bit more richness in saturation and contrast in post processing ( like using the multiply layer in PS ) and this would have climbed in the voting. |
Thank you. I wasn't going to enter this as I wasn't pleased with this version at all. I thought it was flat, and didn't know if multiple layers were acceptable and what would break the rules. Personal version, another layer run through Nik, popped the sky and saturated the tree line, and showed the boardwalk off very well.
Thank you for taking the time to comment, and still very pleased with the finish. Message edited by author 2013-11-14 08:55:07. |
