this is a self portrait - i covered a stool with a black t-shirt and set the bananas on it in the middle of a dark room (it really was past 2 in the morning) i sat in a chair right next to that setup, and had a spotlight next to me aimed at the nanas - i set up the camera next to the stool, pointed back at me - i positioned myself so that i could see the reflection of my eye in the center of the lens, then looked at the nanas and clicked the remote --- this was the most compelling shot i could muster out of over 130 of these i tried
