Wow, someone else on DPC from Rodney - cool! I get the idea in the image but the title refers to a road that we can't really see in the shot. The pole the sign is on could also do with being straightened up a little bit.

A nice portrait, but the face dominates the picture too much IMHO. I think, given the title of the challenge, that the narrow DOF may not be the right way to go.

looks like a scrapbook photo, I mean that in the worst way possible. I defintly needs to look less like it was taken with a dipsoable camera and more like it was proffesinally done.

My wife and I took a 30-day trip to New Zealand last year and LOVED it. We especially like the Kerikeri area, stayed at a great B&B "The Summer House." We also loved the restaurant by the nursery.

First, let me say the the DPC band challenge was a blast, but it was also very competitive. The DPCer creative juices were really flowing, producing some of the best album covers imaginable.

Your doggie shot is great - unusual composition makes it stand out from the crowd, good lighting, perfect focus on the eye. The texture in the fur is superb. The pose gives it a sense of mystery and humor at the same time.

But, my gosh, the text you chose could not have been much worse. It's so gaudy and distracting that it takes over the image, making it hard to concentrate on the dog. I'd bet your score would have been much much better with the same image and a plainish, single colored font.

The band name itself isn't terribly attractive - but it's pretty hard to make much out of "DPC".

Keep shooting, keep submitting, and say howdy to Rod and Christine from The Summer House should you happen upon them.
