Dark Primate Cultureby biggood53Comment by Neuferland: This has great potential to grab my attention but it's just shy of it. The size in one thing, it seems a bit small. And that makes me miss some of the details of the covor. Also the crisp lines coming in and out of the upper right and lower left corner are a nice touch but then the rest is so soft and undefined it leaves me a bit off balance.
As is a 6 |

Dark Primate Cultureby biggood53Comment by Konador: I don't really like the border effect, and the overall image is a bit small for me to be able to see the details properly. Try to use the full 640 pixel limit. |

I CAN SIT ON POWER LINES, CAN YOU?by biggood53Comment by OneSweetSin: Critique Club
I admit I did read the comments left during the challenge and do agree with most of them...cropping differently so that the bird would be more to the top and right side as well as trying to get the wires to run corner to corner would have a nice touch to it.
The one thing I would have liked to have seen was more detail in the bird to show the texture of the feathers, however you have captured some and the colors are very good here. |

Marbled Chocolateby biggood53Comment by Curious: Good idea. I think a few simple things could really improve this image. A neater surface for the subject like a board or table top that wouldn't get ripples in it. I think if the image included more of the hand and a bit of the wrist it would balance the composition more. It looks like you used a flash making the lighting a bit sharp. I think a light setup to one side would create some interesting shadows across the surface and would reduce the white dots on the chocolates. I also would have focused the camera on the chocolates at the front of the shot. The way you placed the chocolates works for me creating a nice "random balance." |
