Arizona Skylineby psartComment by Monique64: Even though the colours of blue and yellow are a nice contrast there is nothing in this picture that draws my eye which is frustrating. If the larger yellow flowers almost central to the picture were in focus with everything else in a blur this would have drawn the eye. I also dont understand is application to the theme Symmetry. |

Arizona Skylineby psartComment by RPvanderHilst: I find this image quite boring. There are only two main colors, there's no place where the eyes are drawn to and the subject at hand (small leaves and flowers) just don't do well when compressed as jpeg. Next time, add an object to focus on. -2- |

Arizona Skylineby psartComment by bassbone: i really don't see the planes of symmetry in this image - it is pretty - love the yellows set off against the blue sky |

Cactiby psartComment by digitalknight: this photo has no real subject - the only thing that draws my eye is the yellow blossom - and it seems fuzzy, and is such a small percentage of the image
The view point also seems rather ordinary - as though you walked up, pointed your camera down, and snapped the shot.
The final observation is there are no compositional hints as to where my eye should go - I find my eye just wandering around the frame.
I think your eye was drawn to the yellow blossom - I would suggest that you work to show us this common image in an uncommon way - wait for more indirect sunlight? Use a bounce card to fill in the harsh shadows? But definitely fill your frame with the blossom. Then I think you'll see your scores will be higher.
Hope that helps. |
