Nice idea, though you need a lot more light so the water doesn't blur. Without the title, I'd be wondering what I was looking at.

Sorry but this is not very visually interesting. It does fit the theme, though.

nice texture... i can't say that the overall impact of this image is grabbing my attention. I like black and whites with nice contrasts like this one if the subject is grabbing me. = 6 - jmsetzler

Well, Texas, you're right, this is a color pic. There are huge amounts of grey that might make some think this was B&W, but the browns on the right would either be spot editted (illegal here) or heavily "played with". Here is the downside to bringing your shot to "the group's" attention. I had originally scored this shot as 7, I saw lots of texture and I wasn't certain how I would sway. Your shot is well taken, texture is clearly displayed. Framing isn't a factor. Now, you get the less objective stuff. Is this interesting (w or w/o the challenge)? Not really, unless maybe you are a geologist. Would I voluntarily come back to this photo to review it? No, not really. Would I hang this photo on my wall if given as a present? Sorry, still no. So on a photographic scale, yes, this is a 7, give or take a point. On the estetic (sp) scale, no this is more like a 4 or maybe a 5. So it cost you a point from me, in calling this shot to my attention. 6 Swash (have a nice day!)

I'm big on taking "side angle" shots, but I suspect you may have been limited here by the surroundings not matching the appearance of this area. A cactus in the background, a sunset, or even a rain cloud would have added a lot to this for me. 7 nards656
