Thames Street Parkby brianedenComment by Paige: Nice, I Love the overhanging trees and the red building. It is a bit tilted(scroll to the fence or the bench)and could be cropped a bit on the left to center the bench. |

Thames Street Parkby brianedenComment by ChrisW123: Pretty cool. Looks almost like a room with that covering from the trees. Except the focus seems a little "off" for some reason. Maybe not, it's hard to tell. 8. |

Thames Street Parkby brianedenComment by mcrael: The canopy of branches makes this an interesting composition. The snow looks pink to me, overexposed, and not in focus. If your camera has an exposure compensation feature, you might want to try experimenting with that in conjunction with the aperture setting and shutter speed. Snow is very challenging to capture it just right. |

All that Glitters
Composition (Content)
The compositions of the boats on the dock is fine. You may have wanted to play around a little more with your crop. The light on the right looks a little out of place, but if you couldn't go any further left I understand. And a tighter crop would have removed the needed dock on the bottom that isn't in shadow. I don't feel there is a need to crop out any more of the water. The negative space it gives complements the boats on the dock.
Background
DOF is good. However, as others have stated, the brightness of the sun reflecting on the water is a bit distracting. A faster shutter speed or white balance adjustment may have helped.
Camera Work (Technical)
Your white balance may be off a tad. If your camera allow filters, then a polarizer would have helped take out the harsheness of the sun on the water but left the glimmer that you were wanting.
Digital Processing (Technical)
Sharpening is fair ( Not sure you sharpened this photo).
Balance between light and dark is fair. ( Sunlight water issue)
Compression is good ( no jpeg artifacts)
My opinion
You have an interesting subject. Some minor technical changes and you'd have a really nice picture worthy of hanging on a wall. |
