I think this is too much in your face (pardon the pun). The subject seems so close as to be overwhelming, so that the moody & mysterious effect of your strong side lighting is diminished. It feels more like a shot of an eye and a nostril to me. Sorry. 5

Seems a little too close. Maybe it would be more dramatic if you were to back up a little and show more of the forehead and the chin.

This isn't much more than a snapshot, complete with redeye and harsh flash glare. It isn't compelling or imaginitive and thus won't score well.
