If the apparent movement is real, then just wondering how many times you had to try until you got this one. Very creative. 9

Good colors and lighting. Do you bang your head on the sloped ceiling often?

Initial thoughts
Light trails well captured but little else of interest in the frame.

Composition/ Content
This is quite weak for me. Although I do like the way the light trails converge at a point – it doesn’t lead me to anything so there’s a sense of the eye being lead into the shot and then thinking, now what? I

appreciate you wanted to keep the moon in the shot but for me this means that there is just too much blackness overall. I am also distracted by that building at the right hand side.

In terms of composition my favourite crop of this shot is as a square, losing some from the right and the left and the top so that the point of light at the top of the light trails is dead centre.

Background
The black of night is lovely and dark but a little bland – especially when the building on the right is more obvious than that moon up above.

Camera Work - Technical
Looks fine to me!

Digital Processing - Technical
Some of the light trails seem a little jaggy but maybe that’s my screenâ€Â¦

Fits The Challenge
Yes.

Your Opinion On The Photo
Interesting idea but isn̢۪t as strong as it could be.

Hard to get it lighter without blowing out your drawing. And that is my only draw back to this photo. Othre wise it is very good. May cropped off the bottom , from the desk top down and added some more at the top? Just a thought. Good pic though. Worth a 7 with me. PTL

I like this photo. I gave it a seven which seems to be the best it got. Looking over the coments it seems like people either didn't like the weather or didn't like motercycles. I'm not so fond of this gloomy weather either but it makes a great picture and certainly adds to the mood of the day and the roadside repair. He keeps his coat on and his helmet- it must have been raw and the metal looks cold. Nor am I much interested in motorcycles but do Love portraits and pictures that tell a story. This is a real story teller. He's riding with a group, or at least a partner, something has gone wrong, he has to fix t himself, there isn't a garage or a warm place. He looks toatlly intensly absorbed, maybe stubborn even? That face is central to the picture.

I do agree with the commenter who said it looks tilted and should be rotated a bit. But that will be my only negative comment.

I like the colors, almost a monochrome except for the red cycle, the yellow warning lights and the guys face. It emphasizes the three most important things. I like the conflicting diagonal lines of the sidewalk and the leaning bikes. I like the way the broken bike looks black and dirty while the red bike (whos riders is presumably in a warm pub) looks shiney new. I like the writing on the car, on his helmet and on the red bike make a triangle. The picture as a whole is self contained, the lines bring the viewer back to the central theme. Good use of the rule of thirds, his face is at one intersect and NOTHING is at the opposite intersect which makes the face the real focus.

I really like this picture, a lot can be read into it.

Comment from the critique club - remember this is only one amateurs opinion (mine).

Everything looks a little too centered to me and theres not enough color contrast in this shot. The cloudy day doesnt help with that either.

To me, it's a nice composition. The colors do not seem accurate, though. Maybe a little tweaking with levels and saturation would help. Also, maybe a tighter crop on your friend's face and hands.
