very hard shadow under the pencils which could do with some reflected light. Also has a very orange colour cast from the lighting which you could maybe fix with either white balance controls or later in a editing program ?

I like the picture. I would have prefer it to be more 'white' than yellow/brown. I think I would have prefer as well to have everything in focus, the pencils as well.

Very clever title. The image could be improved, I think, with a little more light. Not much, just a little more. Maybe coming from one side. It lends it's self to black and white well. Good choice.

Cool idea!! This should be part of the 'addicted' thread (....when you're lying on you're floors taking photos!) ...been there myself. The centeredness and composition are good for this photo. Only thing, I would like it to be a tad bit lighter (perhaps adjusting the gamma just a smidge). Oh yeah - definately texture. Great job - 8
