Martini-Glassby DArcy10Comment by Gatorguy: I'm not getting the old to new connection? There must be one or you wouldn't have submitted it, right? |

Martini-Glassby DArcy10Comment by puzzled: At first, I didn't get the old and new at all. Now I do, though! Very nice idea and quite an attractive shot. I'm not horribly crazy about the sheet, but don't know why. Love the sharpness of the glass. |

Martini-Glassby DArcy10Comment by varshom: I do not understan where new and old are represented in this picture. The only connection I can make is between the quartz like stones a and the glass they could/will become but I think if that was the case your title should have reflected glass or quartz and not specifically the "martini glass." |

STORM COMINGby DArcy10Comment by blemt: Little bit dark and flat, but I imagine that's due to time of year this was shot. I love the sweeping coastline leading you to the lighthouse and small village. Nice sense of scale with the person. This is a great spot to keep coming back to over the year. I bet you can get some amazing weather related shots. 8 |

Martini-Glassby DArcy10Comment by Montereykiddo: How exactly does this fit the challenge. I dont see it demonstrating the juxtaposition of old and new. Also, if you use a sheet for a background, its best to overexpose it by about 2 stops so that it's not distracting.

STORM COMINGby DArcy10Comment by Skip: what a moment you've captured! i think it would even be more foreboding if you had cropped off the top 25% of the image. that would have kept the horizon from splitting the image in half, and it would have made the darkness of the clouds a bit more intense. but hey, that's just my opinion. you have a beautiful image. thanks for sharing, and good luck in the challenge! |
