Wow, at the clarity of the sushi. Makes me want to eat the stuff even less now. LOL. Great placement and excelent angle for this photo. Looks like a sushi ad. Lighting is great and I like how the foreground is crisp in focus and the background has a soft focus. I also like the adition of color on your part, with the placement of the objects in the background. Great job and good luck in the challenge.

Ilove the red pencils against the white, textured sushi. Very dynamic. The counter bothers me, but if it's what you have, it's what you have! the depth of field is great. Very very nice.

Clever idea, but the texture of the rice is making me feel queasy. Which means you've photographed it really well and it's not fair for me to mark it down, but the appeal just isn't there.

I like the bold colors, the shallow DOF, and the angle. Very cool. Only complaint might be that very bright spot of rice. Not sure if you could have somehow filtered the light to prevent it.
